01 / Overview

One market. A spectrum of strategies.

Gold Spectrum is built on a simple thesis: XAUUSD doesn't behave the same way at every timeframe. A daily breakout has different dynamics than an H1 momentum push. Different setups appear at different scales.

Instead of picking one timeframe and missing everything else, Gold Spectrum runs multiple independent strategies in parallel across D1, H4, and H1 — each with its own logic, its own thresholds, its own risk profile. The result is an internal portfolio that captures the full spectrum of gold's behavior, packaged into a single Expert Advisor.

It's the natural complement to Gold Breakout Fusion, which focuses purely on D1 swing breakouts. Where Gold Breakout Fusion is patient and selective, Gold Spectrum is broad and opportunistic.

Built On A Single Asset

Specialised for XAUUSD only. No generic multi-asset logic. The internal strategies are tuned to gold's specific volatility profile, liquidity patterns, and session behavior. I trade this on my own live account.

03 / How It Works

Multi-strategy, multi-timeframe.

Independent strategies running in parallel

Inside Gold Spectrum, multiple breakout strategies run simultaneously, each analyzing XAUUSD at a different timeframe (D1, H4, H1) and looking for a different market behavior. They don't share signals or co-ordinate trades — each is autonomous, with its own entry rules, stop loss, and risk profile. The result: when one strategy is in a quiet period, another may be actively capturing setups.

AUTO_DD — adaptive risk scaling

Instead of guessing a fixed risk percentage, you tell the EA what maximum drawdown you want to tolerate. The EA linearly scales risk per trade to meet that target.

  • 5% DD target → conservative risk per trade
  • 8% DD target → balanced risk per trade
  • 10% DD target → aggressive risk per trade

Risk per trade is always safely capped between 0.05% and 3.0%. Classic fixed risk modes (LOW / MEDIUM / HIGH / CUSTOM) are also available if you prefer manual control.

Integrated NFP news filter

The Non-Farm Payrolls report (first Friday of each month, 8:30 ET) is the most volatile event for XAUUSD. When enabled, Gold Spectrum closes open positions and cancels pending orders 100 minutes before the announcement and resumes trading 60 minutes after. Both times are configurable. Optional, disabled by default.

Prop firm protections

Built-in Daily Loss Guard, FIFO mode, and configurable max DD limits. Combined with AUTO_DD risk scaling, you can match Gold Spectrum's behavior to your prop firm's specific rules.

Premium glass-morphism panel

On-chart status panel with real-time account state, current P/L, active protections, and per-strategy status. Visual feedback while the EA works — no guessing what it's doing.

No Dangerous Methods

No grid. No martingale. No averaging. Every trade is individually sized and protected by a fixed stop loss. If a trade hits its stop, the EA moves on — it doesn't try to "save" it by adding more positions.

04 / Recommended Setup

Get started in three minutes.

Step 1 — Account requirements

  • Symbol: XAUUSD (Gold)
  • Timeframe: any — the EA uses its own internal timeframes
  • Account type: ECN / RAW spread for tight XAUUSD spread
  • Leverage: 1:100 or higher
  • Capital: €1,000 minimum, €3,000+ recommended
  • VPS: recommended for 24/7 stability

Step 2 — Attach to chart

Drag Gold Spectrum onto any XAUUSD chart. Timeframe doesn't matter — the EA polls its own internal timeframes regardless of where it sits.

Step 3 — Choose your risk mode

Set RiskMode to AUTO_DD and define your maximum drawdown target (5%, 8%, 10%, etc.). Or use a fixed mode (LOW / MEDIUM / HIGH / CUSTOM) if you prefer explicit control.

Step 4 — Optional: NFP filter

If you trade prop firm accounts or just want to avoid NFP volatility, enable EnableNewsFilter. Tweak NewsPreMinutes and NewsPostMinutes if you want a different blackout window.

Step 5 — Let it run

Gold Spectrum's strategies operate continuously. Initial trades may take a few days to appear (D1 strategies are patient). Monitor the on-chart panel for per-strategy status.

05 / Ideal For

Who should run Gold Spectrum?

Serious algo traders specialising in gold

If you trade XAUUSD seriously and want broader exposure than a single-timeframe system, Gold Spectrum gives you a diversified internal portfolio in one EA.

Prop firm and funded account traders

AUTO_DD makes it straightforward to match Gold Spectrum to your prop firm's drawdown limits. Combined with Daily Loss Guard and FIFO mode, it's built for compliance from day one.

Portfolio builders who already run Gold Breakout Fusion

The two products have a correlation of just 0.2 in backtest. Running both gives you maximum diversification within gold — the Gold Spectrum H4/H1 setups don't overlap with the Gold Breakout Fusion D1 swing trades.

Traders who want gold coverage, not gold gambling

Gold Spectrum doesn't bet. It doesn't grid. It doesn't martingale. It runs structured, fixed-risk breakout strategies across multiple timeframes — the same way an institutional trader would approach diversification.

06 / FAQ

Common questions.

How is Gold Spectrum different from Gold Breakout Fusion?
They are complementary, not competing. Gold Breakout Fusion is a pure D1 swing trader — patient, lower trade frequency, focused on weekly breakouts. Gold Spectrum runs multiple independent strategies across D1, H4, and H1 timeframes simultaneously, capturing different market regimes. Running both gives you maximum diversification within gold. Backtest 2019–2026 shows the combination produced +$70,986 with only 4.54% drawdown, correlation between them of just 0.2.
What is AUTO_DD risk scaling?
Instead of choosing a fixed risk percentage, you define the maximum drawdown you want to tolerate, and the EA automatically adjusts risk per trade linearly to reach that target.

Example: 5% DD target = conservative risk per trade. 10% DD target = aggressive risk per trade.

Risk per trade is safely capped between 0.05% and 3.0%. Fixed risk modes (LOW / MEDIUM / HIGH / CUSTOM) are also available.
Does it work for prop firm accounts?
Yes, it is designed with prop firms in mind. AUTO_DD lets you set your maximum drawdown to match prop firm thresholds. Built-in Daily Loss Guard, FIFO mode, and configurable max DD limits provide additional protection. No grid, no martingale, no averaging — every trade has a fixed stop loss.
What about news events like NFP?
Gold Spectrum includes an integrated NFP (Non-Farm Payrolls) filter with hardcoded historical dates. When enabled, the EA closes open positions and cancels pending orders 100 minutes before the announcement and resumes trading 60 minutes after. Times are fully configurable. The filter is optional and disabled by default.
What broker do you recommend?
I personally use and recommend IC Markets for trading Gold Spectrum. Tight XAUUSD spreads, raw spread ECN execution, and reliable performance under volatile gold conditions.

You can open an IC Markets account here. Verify execution quality with Broker XRay if you want to be sure.

Disclosure: I am an Introducing Broker for IC Markets. If you open an account through my link, we may receive a commission at no extra cost to you. I only recommend brokers I use myself.
What is the recommended capital?
Minimum capital is €1,000, with €3,000+ recommended for full diversification across all internal strategies. The EA is designed for ECN/RAW spread accounts with low XAUUSD spread and 1:100 leverage or higher. A VPS is recommended for 24/7 stability.
How can I monitor performance when running multiple EAs?
For tracking multiple EAs on the same account, I built EA Performance Hub — a single Bloomberg-style dashboard that auto-detects every magic number on your account, shows per-EA P/L, win rate, profit factor, equity curve, and advanced metrics (Sharpe, Expectancy, R-multiple, Max DD). It runs passively alongside any EAs without interfering with trades. $39 on the MQL5 Marketplace.
Will future updates be free?
Yes. All updates to Gold Spectrum EA are free for existing buyers, distributed automatically through the MQL5 Marketplace.
